This week the Male Athlete of the Week is Freshman, Alex Potts.  Alex ran a career best at Perry Hall with a time of 19:50 which also happens to be his career best.  Alex becomes the 4th Kenwood male runner in recent history to eclipse the 20 minute mark.  Alex has also been a consistent runner at practice and has been a great presence to have on the team.

The female Athlete of the Week goes to Junior, Tara Vizzi.  Tara ran her career best time on at her home school of Perry Hall.  Tara's time of 24:09 helped the Lady Bluebirds as she was one of the top females for Kenwood on Wednesday.  Tara has been a consistent runner all year and her hard work paid off to have a career best time the past week.

The XC Bluebirds would like to recognize two amazing individuals for this Week's Athletes of the Week.  On the boy's side, Ethan Paul had a great first two meets of his young career.  He was the first Bluebird to finish on the dreaded Hereford course along with helping to give a lead in both legs of his relay at County Relays.

The girl's Athlete of the Week is Sophomore Veteran, Kaitlynn Armstrong.  Kaitlynn dropped her Hereford time from last year by over 5 minutes which considering how difficult Hereford is, this is an accomplishment.  Kaitlynn was also the anchor leg of her specific relay partnership in which she ran a 20 minute 3 mile split along with moving her relay position by 6 spots.  Her effort helped secure a 7th place position for the girls in the County Relay meet.

The football athlete of the week is Jaleel Feggins. In last week's big win over Eastern he was the
leading rusher – (6/57), and also passed for 177 yds on 7 attempts and two TDs.

On the boys side, Josh Aquino is well deserving of this honor. He has dropped his overall best time this week by four minutes. Josh had a brilliant run at Barnhardt that helped secure him as the second overall runner at the race breaking the 22 minute barrier in his 4th race ever. He has also been a team leader as his maturity has helped some of the younger runners become better.

On the girls side, Veteran, Captain, Senior, Jada Boyd had an amazing week. On Wednesday, she was the first overall female to finish against Dulaney, Loch Raven, and Dundalk. On Saturday against some of the best competition in the state, Jada finished 12th with a course best of 21:02 at Dulaney. Jada was also nominated for this week's Baltimore Sun's Athlete of the Week for having 2 excellant races in 4 days of each other.

Crosscountry

On the boys side, Freshman, Collin McKinzie was the 5th overall boy on Kenwood to finish as a very difficult and hilly course of Owings Mills.  Collin also started his XC experience late and already has made amazing progress as he has helped the Bluebirds secure a competitive edge in this year's races as the JV Boys team have only lost to Dulaney and Hereford in league meets.

On the girls side, Senior Yuling Lok had one of the best races in her life considering the difficulty of the course.  Yuling was the second Varsity Kenwood female to finish in which she gave her entire effort to help the Bluebirds move higher in the placings.  Also, this effort has been noticed in practice this week as she has shown great strides to help improve her team by making herself better.

This week the Cross Country team would like to recognize two athletes that had amazing weeks.

On the boys side, Freshman, Greg Alexander, won his race on Monday with a time of 19:35.  This time was the fastest time he had ever run.  Greg beat every JV boy from Perry Hall, Sparrows Point, and Dulaney.  Greg is the first freshman in 4 years to run a sub 20 minute 5k.  Congratulations Greg.

On the girls side, Freshman, Tatyana Wise, also ran a personal best on Monday.  Tatyana was the third JV Kenwood femail and the 4th overall Kenwood female to finish.  She has improved with every single meet and has worked very hard in practice.

 Week 4

Brianna Gilliam
 Girls Soccer
Last two games she has 1 goal and 3 assist in 2 divisional wins.

This week the Cross Country team would like to recognize two outstanding Bluebirds that with their performances in this week's meet caused their specific teams to win the meet against Loch Raven, Milford Mill, and Lansdowne.

On the Boys Side, Akil White's spectacular performance of placing 4th overall and the third Kenwood male to finish helped the team solidify a victory.  Akil pushed himself to keep the distance between him and the next opposing member by over a minute.  He fought hard at Loch Raven in which many consider to be just as difficult at Hereford.  Akil looks to be getting stronger with each meet and pushed himself in practice despite being under the weather.

On the Girls Side, Tara Vizzi's second place performance at Loch Raven helped the girls secure a victory on Wednesday.  Tara's hard work from the entire year is showing as she continues to work hard and gain better results.  She pushed herself all this week in practice and looks to have a strong showing at Baltimore County Championships
